As one of the industry’s top female writers, Jennifer Muro has quickly made a name for herself through the storylines she has crafted for TV projects over the last decade. Through her writing, Muro is on a mission to make women of all ages feel strong and empowered through the characters she creates, whether for drama, action or comedy.

Muro served as the writer for Lucasfilm’s series “Star Wars: Forces of Destiny.” It celebrates the inspiring stories of iconic Star Wars heroes, featuring previous film and series talent reprising their roles — including Daisy Ridley, Felicity Jones, Lupita Nyong’o, Mark Hamill, and John Boyega.
Muro also served as writer and co-producer on the new adult action-fantasy series for Amazon Prime, "The Legend of Vox Machina", which was the most funded Kickstarter in history for TV and film projects. It now has a four-season order.

Most recently, Muro served as co-producer on Paramount+ "Star Trek: Prodigy", which hails the return of "Star Trek: Voyager" beloved Captain  Kathryn Janeway to television. Muro also just finished staffing on the upcoming live-action series "Marvel's Secret Invasion", starring Samuel L. Jackson, Olivia Coleman and Emilia Clarke, set to debut in 2023.

Other writing credits include: Marvel’s “Spider-Man”, DC's “Justice League Action”, and the Netflix series based on the bestselling action-horror book series "Last Kids on Earth". Muro's newest creation brings a brand new character officially into the DC Universe. The graphic novel "Primer" released in June 2020 to much critical acclaim for DC Comics. A second book is in the works, coming 2024.

Born and raised in New York as a first-generation Italian-American, Muro studied film production at the USC School of Cinema Television and landed her first job in 2002 working in development. Her knack for production and script writing have landed her recognition over the years, including serving as a quarterfinalist in the Script Pipeline Contest for her, sci-fi pilot “Tellura,” and as a first-round finalist in the Austin Film Festival for her comedy pilot “ZEBRA.”

Muro also has a knack for film composition, and has been playing music by ear since the age of four. She was even in an all-female rock band in New York City, before she found her passions in writing and production.

Muro currently lives in the Los Angeles area.
